Kritter #2 In the winter, I picked up a houseplant from the street and unknowingly brought along a population of fungus gnat larvae. Soon, the larvae developed into small, mature dark insects that spread throughout my studio. Scientists refer to the adult stage of insects as imagos – the „image“ of the species. The adults live for about five days to reproduce, with each female laying up to two hundred eggs in the damp soil. Most of them died around the windows. There, I collected them, driven by curiosity to add yet another imago of these creatures.
